I got my first ticket today..

Give my regards to the 74th District Court....

I haven't had to deal with them in about 8 years, but then again, I moved south about 8 years ago......

I think it's a civil infraction, and I think the max fine is $100, but I can't seem to find the penalty at legislature.mi.gov or at boat_ed.com/mi/handbook/index.htm

Hopefully I won't get popped for any minor (or major) violations when I put in up there for the 4th......

Did some checking......

In Michigan, as of May 2007, everything on the water except one ski violation and drunk driving is a civil infraction now. Fines can be up to 500 bucks, per the legislative website....

BTW, I was reading the DNR reports online at work today.....
Apparently Saginaw is in District 6 for the DNR.....

Check the link.

You're famous!

Excerpt:
CO Dan Lee was using radar on the Saginaw River when he clocked a vessel at almost
70 miles per hour. The speed limit on inland waters is 55 miles per hour. CO Lee found
that the vessel operator was also short on personal flotation devices (PFDs) and did not
have a fire extinguisher on board. Enforcement action was taken.

since this came back up, i had spend 4 hours in CRIMINAL court, for them to issue my fine, i had to wait for the child abusers, drug trafficers, and all the other inmates, then i could see the judge, why i had to appear in person is beyond me. so it was a $50 dollar fine, $40 court fees, and a $10 conservation fee..and a half day not makin' any money:brickwall:
