Ignition Switch

Find the part number of the one West Marine sells, find it cheaper online, print the page, and bring it on. They price match most online stores.

Hi Y'all.
It's almost spring again!

I had a problem with my ignition on my '97 Convincor. It wouldn't spring back out of Start, and it was loose.
End of the season, I started the boat, it stalled, then wouldnt' re-start.
Fingers crossed it is the ignition.
Picked up a replacement from West Marine, but noticed something during the install.

In addition to the Battery (red), Ignition (Purple) and Solenoid (YR) there was an empty wire connector on the Purple screw, and a loose red wire, same as the Battery.

I've connected everything back except this loose red wire.
I wonder... Was there supposed to be a four terminal on this one, and someone replaced it with a 3?
I'm leary to go connect this extra wire to the Ignition arbitrarily...

Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Jeff
(Keep thinking warm!)

I don't have the part number but i pulled the ignition and called European Marine. They asked me how many terminals were on the switch.

Yes, by number if terminals, mine too has three.
I took a picture of mine.
There are a couple of lengths, and whether you want plastic, brass etc.

I'm still having difficulties as there seems to be no power TO the switch to loop back to the solenoid. Time to get back to the lake and trace it from battery to the starter to the switch...
