ISO - Convincor 242, 251, or 253

Just putting my feelers out, looking for a Convincor (either the 242 which is most preferred, the 251 or a 253). I am tossing the idea around of selling my car to get back into boating. I had a 21' enchanter that I loved, and sold that to get a hot rod. Now I would like to get back into a boat. I would keep the car if the price was right on an older 'mate, but I'm not married to the car either. I have to get a Checkmate again, love these boats (you can't have a supermodel then down-grade to the a Rosie O'Donnel!) all other brands are repulsive in my eyes.

Anyhow, just seeing what's out there. I'm not in a huge hurry, but definitely would be interested in something prior to next summer!

Thanks guys and hope everyone is having a good summer!

Dan,
What kind of budget do you have in mind? Do you want it to be nearly flawless and pay a pretty penny?

I am on a bit of a budget, I would think 20k would be my limit. I know there is a 1991 251 GTX near me in Michigan that looks like it's in good shape, but seems like a lot of dinero (18k) for that old of a boat, and I would still prefer a 242.

As far as flawless, I just want something turn key. I can restore gel coat, trailers and things like that, but mechanically it would need to be sound and decent interior at least.

Geographically IN-convenient

Too bad I'm on the West Coast - I have an AWESOME 1998 253 sitting on a brand new aluminum I-beam tandem trailer:brickwall:

Man, there is the most beautiful 242 I have ever seen for sale on Facebook. I think it't in West Virginia. I'll see if I can get a pic.

EDIT: I was wrong, its a zt240. But its still beautiful, love the flake!!! Its a 2000 with only 140hrs. 7.4MPI, Bravo 1 asking $21,000

That is drop dead SEXY!!!!!!

Sure is! Gorgeous.
I spotted a guy on my lake this weekend with a convincor 242. Stopped and talked to him, what a great looking boat (coming from an outboard bow rider guy). I can see why you prefer the 242. That ZT above though, wow!

It was on the Checkmate Boat Owners group. But it wasn't directly posted. Somebody asked about boats for sale and he responded to it. I'll see if I can get his info for ya.
