Jack Plate for 2100

I see Nada has the Br as 50lbs. lighter ?:eyecrazy: Even 7HP=2-3 mph. I bet you could get that back with some fancy prop work. My Tempest props were always 2 mph faster than the Trophy props but the holeshot and mid range was bang'n with the Trophy.

50 lbs must equal something in HP. Not sure I just know these two rigs are close. Close race is always a fun race, I just want to be the guy in front.

How did you find your RPM's with the trophy

My rpms dropped about 150 switching from a Tempest to a Trophy Plus. I'm a speed freak too ! I'm still flirting with having some prop work done. First I've got to get my engine running to full capacity. I think I may have a timing issue or fuel delivery issue. I'll get there eventually but I'm hoping to break the 80mph mark.

Good Luck and keep us posted as to your changes and results !:thumb:

2000 2100 Pulsare BR with a 2000 Merc 225EFI. I have some aftermarket mods done to engine. Heads, light flywheel, recurved ecu's(rev limit @7000), exhaust can cut 5", poppet water diverter. I was hoping for around 275-280HP. I'm not there yet. :irked:

pulsare setback

I have 14.5" total setback on my Pulsare....CMC 9" static setback nad 5.5" CMC hyd jack. Runs real nice so far....Great hole shot, no porpoise. Just my opinion, but I think CMC makes some of the best brackets and jacks in the buisness at reasonable prices...They are one of the pioneers.

Running a 300XS. Don't have specifics yet, still breaking in. Right around 80mph at 3/4 throttle, 5000 rpms....looking to run 6100-6300 WOT.

CMC's are okay but they don't double bolt everything like stainless marine. Stainless also builds in the rise into their setback bracket. You should consider double bolting the top of motor to bracket, bracket to setback and setback to boat (6 more bolts)

80mph @ 5K... That is great, what prop and what gear ratio

More bolts: thought about that, this is as much setback as I ever had on a boat. Probably a VERY good idea.

The prop I’m running now during break in is a 28 trophy, the gears are 1.75 TM case…I was just going off the speedo which I’m sure is a little high didn’t have GPS with me…was probably only running low to mid 70’s…was just a tad over 5000. The point is that this motor seams to be as good as they (merc) say it is. Hole shot and acceleration are excellent, my old 300Promax was a dog compared to this motor. It took all day for that motor to get the boat up and out with a 28. Don’t know how it would compare to a 300X…but I’ve been told 1 or 2 mph slower top end….BUT, better midrange power and better fuel economy.

My guess is going to be 90 GPS on the nuts, at somewhere around 6100-6300rpms. I really don’t see it breaking 90, maybe.

We will see.

extra bolts

Regarding extra bolts: actually the motor to jack connection would be fine with only 4 bolts since it is sufficient normally if you have the engine connected right to the transom…The place where you should really consider adding extra bolts with a lot of setback would be at the transom because now it’s levered out so much farther….Right? Anyone...Bueller?

The way stainless marine looks at it 4 bolts were fine in the 1980's when a 200 was as big as you could get and it weighed about 400 lbs. Now we are over 500 lbs and more HP

That 300xs is a great motor from what i heard. Curious to see your GPS speeds.
