Jackets are a GO ! Post your size and quantity again here

Thanks for the support guys, but for everyones knowledge, I suspended Dave's right to post on this forum earlier today. I think we need a cool down period, and Dave didn't heed my advice so for now he's silenced here.

That being said, PLEASE let's get past this and nobody 'go after' Dave. Let's let this issue die out and get back to normal

Thanks!!

WOW I go away for a few days and all hell breaks loose LOL. This thread and the jackets idea was all in fun guys and I am sorry it has come to this. I have nothing against anyone here never had and also in the IT business ( I own 2 companies ) so I can attest 110% to the time and cost Chris puts on for this site.

DAVE:
I am sure your heart was in the right place with your posts but ragging on Chris for his posts on his own site I would say was bad judgement, but just my 2 cents. I see there were some past issues but thats non of my business.

BLACK PULSE:
The cost of the jackets was being worked through and info was being posted as I GOT IT from them, NO ONE ever asked anyone to send payment before a final price including all fees etc was decided, so your comment about Chris " being the only one trying to put a price on the jacket is plain WRONG. YOU SAID: " Here's an idea, when you are trying to sell something, how about give potential consumers the price at the same time!"

I take offence to that, one I was never selling anything, just thought that if we bought as a GROUP than it would be cheaper and easier, you cannot give a price out until they know what quantity we are dealing with. I just hope that was not directed at me.

All I expected from people was a YEH or NEH even if you had said yes just repost in this thread saying changed my mind I am out, Is that so hard ? I don't care why, that is the persons business in life things come up, but I do not feel it is a bad thing to ask for a responce or confirmation either way ? Do you ? Just helps so everyone knows we are taking 10, 20 jackets now and not waiting on 30 or 50.

CHRIS:

Sorry you had to take BS over this, that was not right. You were put on the list as in one of your posts you mentioned you MIGHT want one just like everyone else did, as I mentioned above all that was expected with this thread was to either confirm or cancel the mention of a jacket by each person that said, yes, no or maybe so we knew where we stood.

It might have been a little helpful if I knew the experience with Brilliant before so I could cover more basis but I guess we will see what happens. There are NO brokeage fees with the USPS and you will only be charges GST on the jacket not PST. If they do not respect the agreement and it arrives UPS with all the extra fees I can tell you it will be refused at the door and returned to sender. I also will not pay over $300 for a jacket even though I can afford it.

Hope things answers everything for everyone and lets end it here.

Bigmoss,

I'm sure everyone appreciates the effort you put into getting the jackets arranged. I know I certainly do. I don't want to speak for BP but I think he was was just trying to back me up as I was taking a few shots. I think he was just trying to reinforce the point I was trying to make about trying to determine the exact price so that people knew exactly what to expect.

Unfortunately, it seems like there was a bit of miscommunication and I don't think it was your fault. I think a lot of us wrongly assumed the jackets were a 50-60 dollar purchase and not a 150 dollar purchase. And I think the number of people who wanted to purchase one dropped significantly when the price was higher than anticipated. So when the final price was determined they didn't go ahead and purchase. Again, that's not your fault, it's just life.

For some reason at that point, a few comments were made that really shouldn't have been. (They weren't said by you) And the comments upset some people including myself. To be frank, the comments grew to finally be pretty demeaning and insensitive and I'll leave it at that.

And, a few members commented privately to me about them so that was part of the reason why I tried to offer some suggestions as to why perhaps people that had initially expressed an interest might have lost interest. I was also trying to alert everyone to be careful with the shipping as I had been burned a couple of times before. And when I say burned I don't really mean by Brilliant, I mean by UPS. Try googleing "UPS Brokerage fees on Canadian orders", or similar keywords you'll no doubt find all kinds of horror stories about UPS charging excessive fees on items they broker into Canada. But I digress....

Anyhoo, my explanations for some reason just seemed to make things worse, which was unfortunate. And the number of people that were upset was growing, but people were reluctant to express their feelings publically on the board. My frustration grew as well, so I finally decided to just speak my mind on a number of fronts and I'm sure we can all see how well that cleared things up.

At the end of the day, the bottom line is that most people involved in this deal had good intentions. I know you certainly had the best of intentions. I am confident our membership had the best of intentions. And I can tell you, that I had the best of intentions.

I also just wanted to let everyone know that EVERYTHING I have ever ordered from Brilliant has been top notch stuff. And I've got almost all of the items on the Mate site. Towels, shirts, hats, sweatshirts keytags you name it. As I mentioned I've also given Mate stuff as gifts to my girlfriend and some close relatives that love the Pulse. Some of the items I've literally had for years and years, and it has all held up great. The only issue I had with Brilliant was with the shipping. And I don't think they were totally at fault. I doubt they would even really know much about what happens to their orders after stuff leaves their warehouse unless they get a call from their customer. They made a booboo on my last by sending it via UPS and it was a little late but it wasn't the end of the world. I can tell you that I would have no problem letting Brilliant create product for the site if a time came that we decided that was something we'd like to do. So I'm confident the jackets that you guys get, will be excellent and you'll enjoy them for years and years to come. I was just a little concerned about the orders being shipped by UPS and Canadian members being hit by rediculous fees by "The Truck" and hence my several comments about brokerage fees.

Bigmoss, on behalf of myself and a bunch of the members, I want to thank you for stepping up and putting in the time and effort on this. It's very much appreciated and I hope you guys post some pics of the jackets when you get 'em.

Why doesn't someone ask if Brillant Promotions will put the same crest on a lighter jacket.

I had jackets made for my employees they were 175 bucks Canadian and then customers wanted them the ones for the customers were 63.00.

The jacket that Bigmoss arranges is perfect for me and I would have picked it if there was a choice.
Maybe there is a less expensive lighter jacket option?

Thanks for all your work on this Bigmoss. By the way I checked with Peggy she does have my order she did not give a head count on the total though.

Brilliant have a bunch of products so it doesn't even have to be a jacket. It could be a shirt, pullover, or even a hat. Maybe we could ask Kip if we could put something about the forums on the item(s) somewhere if you guys like.

If the brokerage deal rears its ugly head again for our Canadian orders, perhaps Lake & Trail could help us out, or maybe we could find one central spot to ship them out from.

For payment I could always pay Brilliant and you guys could pay me through paypal.

I'm easy about the entire thing, if it's something people want, I'll do it. If not, that's cool too.
