Slow CMC's

I wish Checkmate would start using the newer CMC's that are faster.

Mine is way too slow. It does the job, but if I had some extra $$$ and the time I would sell it and purchase a Bob's.

Maybe over the winter.

Just curious about what you guys are considering slow?

My CMC goes from full up to full down and vice versa in under 15 sec.
Is this considered slow? Or do I have one of the faster ones?

Either way it works good.:thumb:

The new fast CMC's are supposed to go up and down in 8 seconds. The old ones are 23 seconds according to the guy I'm buying it from. The one I'm looking at takes like 40 seconds! I've also heard of the second ground wire trick and that it helps a little. CMC sells a rebuilt pump/actuator unit for $200, or a new 8 second one for $300.

CMC also has some scratch and dent 8 second units for $605 right now. That seems like a great deal! I asked about the 6" units, but they may have other setbacks - not sure.

For now, I'm going to replace the guide washers on this one and just use it. For $200, I don't think I can really go wrong.... until it sticks full up on the lake!

Anyone ever rebuilt one of these actuators / pumps? Would you be concerned about one that slow? Any opinions are appreciated!! Thanks.
