Laser 2 on I/O exciter 260 hp

I was told a while back that a laser 2 /23 pitch works well on these boats but what diameter? 13.75 or 14.25? Thanks

Depends on your lower unit. Standard case? Alpha? Standard outboard 150 - 225? Then you want the larger hub, the the odd pitched props. Even pitched props for smaller lower units like XR2, XR6, XR6. And if you want over hub exhaust performance on the standard size case.

If the 23" comes in both hub sizes (which I don't remember, thought only larger) then try both

Laser 2

Thanks for the reply. I have the Alpha 1 outdrive. There are two of these laser 2 / 23 pitch on eBay right now. One is listed as 14.25 diameter and the other is 13.75 both by the same seller. Quite a difference in price so just wanted to know which would be best for my stock 260 HP.

So I think the 14.25 is the original laser and the 13.75 is the Laser 2, at least in the 23 pitch anyway. Not sure what to do. The part numbers do interchange but what would be best for this boat? Wish I could afford them both.

Go larger, and if you need more slip on hole shot you can drill the hub to create vents (if it doesn't already have vents).

I had both a 23 and 25 pitch Laser 2 on my Exicter with a 200 Merc. Both worked great, but ended up going with the 25. They were both 13.75"

Had a 25 pitch on a 18 Baja with a slightly built Merc 225. It had an older 2:1 lower unit, and was an amazing ski boat. Down side was you could over rev it, so had to use a little common sense.

The Laser 2 worked great on both boats, but they were both outboards. When I bought the 1st one, salesman was leaning towards the Laser as the boat was overpowered, and so light. Not sure how it would work on an I/O

I run a 21p Laser II on my Enchanter with a 350/260hp Merc, works great for me! The Laser really seams to carry the bow better than other props I've tried, and it get's out of the hole pretty good too. I'm pretty sure mine is the 14.25" dia, but I'll have to double check that. The Exciter is a couple feet shorter than the Enchanter, so the 23'p should be just right for your boat and probably the bigger dia is the way to go.
