89 hydrostream with a 150 'rude v6 $2200

I don't know about 81 mph though
I talked to the guy and it needs a floor and seats

No way that boat runs 80. My Vegas had 225 or so HP and would do 80 best case scenario. They are fun though when you get the kinks worked out and things dialed in.

Yep.

If it's a Hydrostream and it hasn't been recored then it needs a core no matter what. :)
They all have "a small soft spot in the floor" that turns into floor, stringers, core (if a Stream) and motor board.
I recently drove 3 hrs to look at a 2nd owner Stream that had already had all that done to it only the seller was lying :pissed:
You could lean on the motor and see the motor board separate from from the deck cap! and it was the orig. floor.

As to speeds........., all depends on power and set up. I had a Vector (approx 6" shorter than the boat advertised) w/a 150 Merc on it that ran 77 GPS, box stock.
I built a work bench JohnRude and saw 101 GPS before getting bored.
Boat had 10+ left in it.

Streams are an even bigger labor of love than a Checkmate. Mates were always built well, Streams were'nt. Mine was one that got the full nine yds.
If I had been smarter, I'd of drug it in a field w/a quart of gas and a lit match.
Way cheaper and less painful :brickwall:

I've got a real soft spot for Hydro's. There was a Vking on White Lake when I was growing up that I still get a chubby thinking about.
It was way overpowered and I'll never forget how it met it's demise.
The owner floored it out of the hole and it just up and somersaulted on itself like an over-enthusiastic gymnast on coke-roids.
Is it still sitting on the bottom at 100+ feet 30 years later?
Don't know. Do you?

God do I want a vegas badly. We all know the first mod to a stream is a core! :rof:

Matt I have an 87 Vegas that I'm thinking of selling. It is already 90% gutted, so it's about ready for core to go back in. The hull is in decent shape it has a few blems and cracks but nothing that couldn't be remedied. It also has a fairly new interior and it's sitting on a nice roller trailer, though I'm not a fan of rollers it's still a nice trailer. it also has a pretty beefy transom support bracket made of stainless and aluminum, I have seen a few streams with the same setup. These are pre demo pics, it's been sitting in storage since, I ran out of time and got distracted with other mates haha.

I like it. What are you thinking of asking for it? I wouldn't be in any position, nor would I have the time until after summer.

They do look cool and like nothing else. If I still have the vegas in the fall it will get finished over the winter. It sounds like he also had a prop that hooked up! That would have been something to see.

It was. In my minds-eye it feels like yesterday.
Certain things burn themselves in your memory.
Like Hydrostream's
