Magic eraser

I was cleaning up the ZT last night, washed up the seats as best as I could and they looked not bad, Candice comes out and hands me a Norwex scrubbing pad, same as magic eraser I think, wow did that bring the dirt out, before I did it they didn't even look that dirty, once seeing one side clean they looked really dirty where I hadn't done it.

I also used it on the under side of the hatch where it rubs on the outside and it took away any marks that were there, I gotta admit this car motor boat is starting to grow on me, it has a certain presence in the garage sitting there with the hatch up that the eluder just doesn't have.

they are amazing cleaners for countless jobs. I haven't used them on the ZT because it simply doesn't need it but I've used them on other boats and once you start you can't stop. they clean so well that everything you don't touch looks dirtier than before you started. especially on upholstery. I have heard from others that they will dry out and eventually break down vinyl and that a vinyl upholstery conditioner should be used afterwards. not sure how true that is

Even though it only had 34 hours on it I think it spent a lot of time outside uncovered, the reason I think that is the orange paint on the gauge needles is faded, now after seeing how much dirt came out of the upholstery I'm sure of that, I'll go get some stuff to condition it today, I'm also going to buy a buffer and start on that, again it's not that bad but when I hit it with some 3m rubbing compound by hand it sure looked better in that spot, worst of it is on the front few feet where the sun can get at it from under the lift canopy, PO also had it on a covered lift according to Roberts marine so maybe that why the upholstery was so dirty if he left it untarpped, I still tarp it even though its under cover.

be carful with magic erasers, they are a ceramic foam and basically work like sandpaper. Clear coat + magic eraser is not a good idea! ask me how I know...
