Mariner 150 -small hose from lower unit??

Supernova

New member
I have a 1993 Mariner 150 and there is a small pitot-tube like hose that comes up and out of the lower unit right under the steering pivot. It has an odd metal fitting on the end of it. Anyone have any idea what this may be for? Thanks for your help.

It's the p/u tube for your speedo.

Thanks, I thought it might be, but I have never seen one come out of the lower like that. There is no pitot pick-up on the transom though, so that makes sense, now I just have to find the other end of it to connect it.

I was wondering what that was myself. I have a tra. mount an it always lose's psi from coming out of the water. Now I might remove it and run my speedo hose to the lower unit.
