Max RPM Question

Hi,

Me and a friend just have built the following from available parts:
2.4EFI (Non Bridgeport, was a "V220"?)
Offshore Midsection (from a 2.5EFI280)
Sportsmaster gearcase (1,87)

The ECU (as it was faulty) was replaced by a Promax 225 ECU, rest of the electronics has also been replaced.

Doing 1:45

It seems there's no rev limiter on this ECU as the engine came up to 6500 easily (apart from the prop cavitating above 5000rpm ;-))

What would the normal Max RPM be for this engine? 63-6500?

The Promax limiter is set at 6750. Your motor can spin that but The harder you spin it the more chances you pop it. I would keep it under 6500 for the most part. Prop it for 62-64 and enjoy it for years to come.
