I will be down there about 10am Sat morning, weather permitting,(Smit should I start the rain dance now??LOL)Just pulled my head and everything looks great, just a bad gasket, looks like they used a old one on the rebuild,,Mr Patroni you and the wife are welcome to come aboard if you want to meet me down at Elkton or ElkNeck..I am leaving Jersey about 6am to beat traffic and will sleep at sisters in Elkton and head back home 6am the following morning..

Hobie,

Thanks for the invite  but the Starflite won't be ready for Memorial
weekend. The top half goes into the paint shop tonight and the bottom half goes in next Wednesday. I will be assembling over the Mem. weekend .

Please don't use "Mr." LOL you make me feel old :(.

But it won't be long now  .

Jim

hey Hobie,
I am anxious to see you but try to leave that crap weather in N.J.
we will be going down Saturday morning
I'll see you @ Lloyds during the day. I'll get your number and call you.
lets get a bunch of Checkmates together .

i was hoping too see more responses, but i guess this is the big bbq in the yard weekend,,i hope we do not get the weather on my back like last year, took me 5 weeks of rainy weekends before i could get down,i plan on making a few trips your way if the weather holds out..

where are you SIM?

Just talked with my better 3/4. We're IN! (If the weather is decent).
Gotta find somewhere to put the dog. Kyle- where's a nearby motel we could stay in Friday night?

I'm planning on making it to Lloyds Saturday too, I just don't know when. I'll see you guys then.

Here are a few hotels in North East just a few miles from the ramp at Anchor or Elk Neck.

I have seen many boats in the parking lot at the Holliday inn and it is the closest to the ramps.

I am thinking of launching at elk neck, unless there is a closer place, figure about 10 am any later then that, will be a mad house..Sim that route 40 in Elkton,is loaded with all business,Walmart.WaWa McD,I am sure there are plenty of Motels.Changed my head gasket, and waxxed all weekend,I will be driving the Cherry...See you guys on Sat..

:banana:go away rain dance....:banana:rain rain go away:bounce:come back another day:bounce::banana::bounce::banana::bounce::banana::bounce::banana::bounce::banana:

Elk Neck is close but I launch at Anchor marina right in town. the ramp is $10 but they have a golf cart that takes you to and form your truck. First class place imo.

BTW North East now has its own Walmart (they even put ina light for it I thik that makes three now) A McD's,BK,Wedy's, Wawa, AND......, a Waffle house. (Yup just like all the big cities). And our hotels don't charge for clean sheets (two live crew reference LOL) sorry got my buzz on, but really stay at the HIX and be 5 mins. from the ramp in North East which will give you a nice ride down the Norht Eawt River to Turkey point then to Lloyds. BTW Achor has fuel but they only take cash. But plenty of gas stations in North East(FLying J,Sunoco, Wawa)

I tried anchor last year and it was to crazy, maybe i was to slow but i have a family of 6,it was a real rough day and that dock was rocking,I basically do everything myself, launched the boat then tied it off,had to help everyone on board, when i turn around i see my truck leaving the ramp,I was annoyed that an employee would just jump in my truck and take off,ok I was to slow, but safety first..everyone was in a hurry,I was inbetween 3 go fast big boats, very loud,I can only tell my boat started by the smoke, had to wait for engine to warm up,my boat tends to shut off when you first get started,I pull away from dock it stalls,I don't realize because all the loud boats and everyone is trying to run me down,,madhouse, finally got out of there, but it sux trying to restart your motor when you can not even here the engine turn..

That stinks... I know it is a fast moving ramp but I would never think anyone has the rite to move your truck. Sorry you had a bad experience there.

If he asked,I would have said yes,but to see my truck driving away as I am loading my kids, was like what the F,someone is stealing my truck..But anyway, just another boating tale now..I will most likely launch at ElkNeck state park..

SIM,,,i still have a number in my trk,but it always goes to voice mail..where do you plan on launching? Iam thinking around 10 give or take

I'm thinkin' bout the same and maybe meeting up on the road......but........and here's the but- weather at this point is saying high of 69 with possible showers. I'm not sure this is the weekend I wanna be driving nearly 3 hours each way. Lets see what develops. I'm Pm'ing you my #. Check and see if it's the same.

I am hoping to be launching between 10-11 @ Anchor on Saturday. Sunday my wife will be busy until 3ish so I may bag Sunday or run around on my own for a bit. Monday back at it with the whole family.

Peace,
Rob

Yesterdazy the report was all good. Now 40% chance of thunder storms, this is B.S. but we are still in. probably gonna run a roound a bit before heading to Lloyds.
