I HAVE A 1990 198 PACIFICA 260 HORSE 350 CHEVY GOES 60 ON SPEEDO WOULD LIKE HIGH 60'S TO BEAT MY UNCLE IN HIS CROWNLINE, ITS STOCK EXEPT I CHANGED IT FROM THOUGH THE HUB EXHUST TO THOUGH TRANSOM HAS A 23 PITCH PROP LOOKING IN TO BUYING A MICH WHEEL RAZOR ( I THINK ) 23 PITCH. THANKS FOR THE INPUT.

Run from the mich wheel. Stick with merc. Find a place that will let you try a bunch of props. They will normally do this with a deposit. Then let it rip. What rpm are you turning your current prop?

Michigan wheel props are pigs. Don't bother. And if you like speed, DO NOT send them any props to rebuild. I lost 10 mph on a prop I had them 'clean up'. Never again.
First of all, make sure your carb is properly jetted for the thru transom. It was tuned when new for the thru prop, and you may have lost speed when you opened up the exhaust. I know I lost 3 mph when I switched from thru prop over to through transom. I didn't spend the time to rejet the carb and open up the intake to take advantage of the thru transom. I switched it back to stock.
If you want to keep the thru transom, get a bigger flame arrestor and re-jet the carb until you get best top speed. Once jetted properly, then play with every prop you can get your hands on by Mercury.
