Need some advice

Bought a 21 ft Enchanter a couple of months ago. She's been sitting in a garage for 4 years. Can anyone tell me the best product to remove the oxidation and shine her up? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hey thanks! She's pretty now so I can't wait to get her shined up! Let alone get her in the water next spring! Will have the new motor in in a couple of months too. Then my next hurdle will be figuring out how to post a picture! But thanks again!

Back in the day I used 3m superduty straight for the tough areas, for others i would cut it with water so I could use a paint brush to apply it. This sounds silly, but worked quite a few times for gel coat that just needed a good buffing, (not porus yet) I'd paint it on the whole boat, then buff it off. Try a small section first, if it is porus, you'll have one heck of a mess.

There's plenty of adivce over on the resto forums, but most agree if the gel has allot of oxidation, a power buffer is a must along with a series of products starting with compound, then polish, then wax... and more wax. Once it shines, keep waxing!
Anyway, i had fairly good results with the mequires products but i think the 3M stuff is better by a bit.
