New Boat: Paint Scheme Suggestions?

SCT

Well-known member
I'm looking at ordering a new boat after the new year. Either, a 25' or 28'Convincor w/ dual 3.0L Mercs on offshore OB setbacks (Gil or Dana) and Latham hydraulic steering.

Does anyone have any paint scheme/ color suggestions for a new boat? (Any ideas, Kip?) I'm looking for something different but conservative. One of the trim colors should probably be black to match the Mercs, OB setbacks and other rigging.
Thanks for the help?

Merry Christmas.

I'd go with all white on the deck to fend off the fading worries, then go with the checkmate red down the sides with white and black striping of some sort, either the big ZT logo or the checkered flag style. Then I'd do the bottom in white to match the deck.

If you want to mess with different color schemes try this Ranger website. http://www.rangerboats.com/pages/boats/custom.cfm It is a lot of fun. If you are thinking red, try a combination of 2-3 different shades, particularily darker ones. I know a guy with a 4 shade red metal flake Baja

that is one of the most stunning finishes I have ever seen.

JW,

You have good taste. Do you mean something like this:

Any other suggestions or thoughts?

I'm also thinking of a Rhinoliner type finish instead of carpeting. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

I'd still go with carpet. As far as that paint scheme goes, that's close to what I like.
My changes would be to add the 3" white stripe all along the rub rail, bordered by the 1/2" black stripes. I'd also border the red to white transition with black stripes at the bottom line. I think I'd go for the checkered flag graphics at the back also. With the rub rail area white bordered by black, that would make a perfect transition to the droop down white/black checkered flag.
