New Member with a possible Checkmate MX-14

Could be for anything. Bilge pump, ejector seat, surface to air missiles.... That is a James Bond boat you know. :poke:

I was thinking ejector button for passenger front seat.Like that commercial where the guy is fishing and the wife will not shut up:brickwall::eyecrazy: and she gets ejected to the swamp on the other side of the lake.:thumb::D

That metal plate with the buttom on it is right where it would of been.
Thats why the ID tag is gone. wouldn`t be nice if it was still there under the plate?
What is that button for?

I'm guessing it was a kill switch or something. That green bottom to left pulls out so i'm guessing that was a choke or for navigation lights. You guys are seeing the boat just the same as I was when I bought it. All I've done is wash it, get some duct tape gunk off the deck from a for sale sign, and clean the carpet.
I might take that plate off and see if someone took that ID plate and used it for a button. That would be very nice if that was it!
Is it possible to title a checkmate without the ID plate?

Is it really a James Bond boat? I thought Glastron had that contract with a couple movies. And one of them had that submersible jet boat.

Well I took that mysterious button and plate off. Unfortunately it was not the ID plate. Just some guy filling in a huge hole. I'm not sure what I'll put there. Maybe a panel with switches for navigational lights, bilge pump, panel lights, ect.

take what ever that is on the outside and see if there is any chance that is the USGA plate you are looking for.

That plate you removed was covering the hole for the original Trim/Trailer buttons I think.......The hole is the correct shape. I am Computer challanged (old) or I would post a photo of the switch. I guess my point is if you run an In Line Mercury with period correct buttons they will fit that hole. I would guess the location was to allow pushing them when the control handle was at WOT ? The button you removed looks like a horn switch.
