New owner of a '70 Checkmat

Hey everyone, I registered here about a year ago, with the intent of getting to know all I could before I got a Checkmate from one of my friends. But some things happened, and I was unable to get the boat untill now, it isint in too bad of shape, but it needs a lot of work too, I got the boat with a 135 inline 6 Merc, without a trailer for $400. Anyway, I am going to have to redo the dash, and floor, and strenghten the closed bow area, it seems to be a little weak in some spots. I will get some pictures on here as soon as I learn how to post them, I remember reading something about having to send them to somebody so they can post them.

Oh yeah, the boat is a 1970, 16.5 ft, deep V, closed bow, thats about all that I know, I am unsure on where the VIN number is so I can't get more info.

Welcome. Like you I joined about a year ago to learn all I could before I bought my Checkmate. I just bought mine a couple of months ago.

Your VIN (Hull#) should be on the transom on the outside by the right edge. It starts CHK--- and the last two numbers are the year.
