I'm glad you're having fun!

I'm going to move this thread over to "News and Views". Rick is setting up a run of his own, so we'll keep them together. /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Evan,

I'd be interested in helping put something together. August 2nd is the date we decided on here. I also spearheaded a poker run at the Green Bay Yachting Club a while back, this year we hit year # 3 on Saturday June 21st.. The GBYC run brings about 70-100 boats.. pays back five hands, first place being $1,000! band, food, hooters girls.. it's a blast! Would you consider moving it into early June? I would make May without a doubt, but Mays also my busiest month, we've got about 70 boats stored inside our heated facility that are 35' plus that need to be put in the water with the travel lift. We'll be starting on that end of April, usually wrapped up by Memorial Day Weekend. If May was the month of Choice, one of us from here will still attend, Probably myself or Tom. Speaking of Poker Runs..APBA is having it's first "annual" in Chicago over the 4th of July! Looks like it's going to be a great summer! Good thing for Chris... now we can use the Checkmates 365 days/24hrs Very Nice!

Rick,
Are you going to the Chi-town Poker Run? Do you know, is there info at APBA's web site? Is Aug 2nd set in stone for your gathering so I can make hotel reservations and Stephanie can get off work
Bill

Hi Bill,

August 2nd is the weekend of the Checkmate event in Green Bay, though it still needs a name other than Checkmate event! Any ideas anyone? Chicago... Everytime I go to Chicago, I end up in some sort of trouble, so, yes... We'll be at the Chicago Poker Run!

Rick, do you have a link to any info for that, I was just in the APBA site for a second and did not see anything.

TO all other members, think about joining APBA to help support it. Associate membership is only 25.00 per year and allows you to enter any APBA events. That also includes an annual subscription to Propeller Magazine.

hey Everyone,
I'm going to have a lake party and poker run at the end of may or first of june in the kentucky lake area of western kentucky.I need a little feed back on admission fees and what you would like to see there.Rick from bayview Marine is going to show up And posibly may help sponsor the event.I am expecting about 100 boats to enter the event and a crowd of about 500.I also need a name for the event.I was was thinking somthing along the line of"thunder over kentucky".the lake is beautiful, nd there are alot of sites to see.If you want to "check"it out you can go to kylakes.com .Please give me some feed back ,this is the first event that i have ever tried to organize. Thanks .

You know what they say Evan.. a bad day of boating is better than a good day at work! Products such as Checkmates, Jeeps and Harleys create "families" so to speak. It's great just to get together, check out each others "Checks", meet after "Chatting" on the net but never really seeing/knowing each other. I'm planning keeping my August event fairly low key, show n shine, anchorage, maybe a run to Wavepointe.. get the radar gun out for grins and giggles....Anytime you get a group of owners that own "like" products, a good time is to be had. I've ran Jeep Jamborees with my CJ-7 and the Jeep guys spend almost as much time talking by the fire as they do on the trail! It's awesome!
