Oil Filters

They all will work but the Mercury filters ar good and even believe it or not Sierra filters are good.
Wix makes an excelent filter so does fram and K&N, K&N puts a lot of R&D in all their products.
I am partcial to the AC Delco PF35 ran them for years, I have been using Wix lately.

I have to agree with just about everyone on here....Wix and K&N are really good filters and when the manufacture builds the engine they design/select a filter to use that they think will work the best. So the AC Delco and Mercruiser filters should be pretty good as well. Me personally I have always ran Mercruiser filters on my boats, AC Delco on my Suburbans and occationally will use a K&N or Wix.

You won't see a fram on my boat unless it's an HP series. A bunch of years back i sent a bunch of filters (mainly German ones) to a guy who used them in his oil filter study website. He noted then that almost all German filters surpassed the quality of anything available within the states. Personally, I use Mobil-1 (K&N is nearly identical) or Wix filters on the boat
Heres the link, lotsa great info here....

i like wix, have used just about everything over the years, ran baldwin in my cars, and they seemed pretty good, just hard to find. these days, i use the NAPA filters which are wix filters i believe.
