Original owner rebuilt 2 years ago and has very low hours since. When it was rebuilt, he did performance mods due to the fact his buddys were all running bigger motors. He ended up selling it to owner #2 too buy a new ranger. Owner #2 hit 73mph gps before letting off of it because he got scared!!!(1300# ranger) Owner #2 wife said "either a smaller motor or the boat" so I even traded it for the 90. Also there was a 100hp limit on the lake they fished at so he claims the motor has very low hours on it. Has great compression and with a few pumps of the fuel ball, 2 blips of the throttle it fires right up cold:drool:. Not sure how it will work on the boat as its another 80# heavier than the 90hp, plus I know its WAY 2 much motor for the boat but its going to make a hell of a fun ride on smooth water:lol:

So what you think? Have I lost my mind:brickwall:?
Nick, you wana come down here wif dat superboat oh what:popcorn:;)

And the secret is revealed, I think you have the power to weight ratio about perfect now LMAO, I have always said what ever the HP rating says double it and add 50 and your good to go, I want to drive it.:D

1st... yes, all doubt is now removed... you have lost your mind.

2nd... hell yeah, sounds fun.... I'm figuring on you blowing over backwards at about 78mph and me and my super winning by default... eidder dat or de boat sinking from dat bigass mota youz hung off da back.:rof:

Seriously man, that is awesome...:thumb: I have no idea how you came across such a sweet deal, but I'm glad you did. That little boat is gonna be balls out nuts!!!!!! Get a little seat time in that thing, then bring your helmet and a parachute and lets play!

LMAO, I was really working the **** stirring for a bit!!! I figured I could get you at least thinking..."WTF is he up to!" I am running a 22p stainless right now but I will see how it runs. I don't think I really want to go 80mph in that thing but I will take it up slow seeing how she takes the speed. If nothing else I will prop it to run at a safe speed with one hell of a hole shot. I will PM you my number to give me a call so we can meet up! Not sure about grand lake with the playmate as everytime I drive by it, there is atleast 2' waves on it:eyecrazy:. Once I get the enchanter together, I will bring it up so we can play:thumb:

BTW, John was the one egging me on to do the swap:poke:. And yes John, you can give her a spin:D

Holy smokes, looks like Brian's got a death wish:eyecrazy:.

John, what are you doing egging him on to this, This is how you treat your friends.

Someone better get video of the first run:banana: :bounce:

Brian, I once got told I had more "guts than brains" for something about as crazy as this. I hope that doesn't apply here.

Rob

I think that is true for this boat! BWHAHHAA! I want to see some numbers! I bet that thing will be one wild ride......a driver's boat if I ever saw one:bigthumb:. I think we have a new Wildman in the making.

That.... is.... AWESOME!

Make sure you have someone take videos of you out there, and please make sure to test your kill switch, wear the lanyard, and wear your life jacket! (Maybe a helmet?)

He saw 82?? with his and the 225 promax. I thought I saw it had more motor but the boat did not! All I need to see is 83.7 to be able to eat me some superboat:poke:. LOL, if I see 70.........ish, I think I will be happy:bigthumb:

I have to make sure they are working. I will deff be wearing the back brace, the jacket, and prob a helmet & goggles!!!

I will get some video of her running. I am sure there is going to be bugs to work out and maybe some rigging changes to make:thumb:

your gonna need some ballast on the passenger side, if you dont have a buddy that wants go wit ya... otherwise youl have a heck of a time keepin on the pad. :bigthumb:

If you get the helmet with the little propeller on top, it might provide some lift at those speeds and help you go even faster!:rof:

And I second the thought about a good life jacket (probably with leg straps too) and for sure a working kill switch attached to ya.

Do you have a foot throttle on that? You are probably going to want o use two hands....one to steen and the other one to hold on to your azz....haha

Took it out today for a little bit. Got about 45 minutes of seat time on it before the back had enough. Kind of windy and the low end was rough but up river was smooth as glass. Boat is about as ill handling as can be!!! Way to much motor on there!!! I got 55mph @ 6000rpm, taking about 3 seconds to get there! Amazing how quick it gets there I would say the enchanter would just be getting up on plane and the playmate would be 1/2 way down the river. The down side is it wants to dive hard to the port side under hard acceleration. My thought is the boat is easier to rock the the prop so as the prop hits resistance, the boat tips. Playing with trim makes no difference on this problem. Also its way to heavy on the rear. Rub rail is at or below waterline and even with a full tank of fuel, the bow is pointing sky high! I am going to drop the LU and check the impeller as the tell tail was pissing but not like it should IMO.
End result~~~ tho it gets the adrenalin flowing, way to unsafe for 2 people to go out on it. I am going to be selling this motor and looking for a newer 90-115 merc for the back of it. Till then, I will prob still take it out and play with it or maybe look for a motor less O/B enchanter:devil:

I bet the acceleration is pretty cool!

I don't know if you could get it setup where its a little more friendly to drive, but with the deal you got on this motor, it might be worth playing with to see if it can be tamed... but I guess there is no escaping the weight of it no matter what you do.

115 would probably be about right. That motor would go pretty good on a Predictor.

I would love to get video of the gps speed while driving it. I will have to take megan out with me this weekend if she is feeling better. The acceleration.....well I still have a smile on my face:D!! Hey Nick, I will race you to 50mph:poke:!!! I knew the other owner had a different prop on it to get the high speed but never did ask him what size it was. I would think it can spin a 26p with no problem.

I am not sure about this but maybe some weight up in the nose would help off set the motor weight, but not sure the adverse effect of the extra weight up there. I do know it would benefit from a set of tabs on the rear. The only time it was real bad was loading it on the trailer with the motor trimmed up a little bit. Just shifting it into forward sent the boat into a 45* forward motion. That was with very little positive trim also. Nothing like loading the boat, shifting into forward and the truck and trailer disappear behind the deck of the boat:eyecrazy:!! BTW, 1 try and it was on even with a hard south flowing current and a high wind blowing the opposite way :thumb: LOL!!! Sometimes I impress myself:lol:

Anybody have input onto how to get it to handle better with this power?
1~ trim tabs
2~ ????

My hat off to you randy for taking the paradise to 82mph!:thumb:

Ok.....Here goes a little brainstorming some solutions to keep that 150 on there..

-Trim Tabs....YES!
-Move fuel tank and battery up under the bow.....or have a large person lay under there...your choice.
-Torque tab on the skeg to reduce that port dive....plus the tabs can be set to offset this.
-Going to a larger pitch prop should lessen that hard torque, give the better top end, but reduce your wicked acceleration (prolly not much with a HP/Weight ratio like that!)

If you want Wildman status.....you must master this challenge young grasshopper. Keep the power....be smarter than the water.....and train the driver!
