prop

aftr 2 times out its a whole different ride scrubbed some top speed im at 55 mph on gps @ 5800 rpm's is that to high of r's for 91'175 merc ? other than that seems great ! thanks for help ! z :surf:

zstevens...

Considering it's set up with that prop to be more of a family sport boat than top end, I'd say your in the ballpark... How is the punch out of the hole, cruising speed/rpm, any issues with cavitation, etc. Have you pulled a skier or tuber yet??? That 4-blade is the BEST for watersports!!!

If you like everything about the 20p 4-blade except the top end... just get a SS 4-blade 20p... the thinner stainless steel blades are less friction and the stainless blades don't flex like an aluminum (so the pitch says more like a 20 instead of say dropping off to a 19ish).

As far as 5800 rpm... your still well within a SAFE level... even 6000 is OK for short speed runs. Is the 5800 with just you or with people & gear loaded???

so far i had trim in to far on a holeshot got sum cavitation , but awesome punch from slow plane and say mid range on ! and load wise 20 plus in fuel all safety gear uscg etc , my wife 3 mo. old baby n me if weather is gd tom. were goin w 2 more adults call it 3 , my buddy is 265 ish lol i'l let you know how it runs out

no go,fog kids no school n looked ugly on lake erie from my house :brickwall: !! any way jim what bout your 22" s what do you have in alm or ss ? thanks z

Another 4-blade for ya...

The 22p 4-blade I have is a Stainless Steel... 13 3/4 x 22p RH

It is a copy of the Merc Trophy or OMC Renegade Bass style prop. Made by Michigan (the OEM maker of the OMC SS props).... very nice quality prop!!!

Brand new in the box... $225+shipping:thumb:

zstevens...

That 4-blade aluminum is a good ski and family cruising prop, it's not going to give you great top end numbers (as no aluminum will run as fast as a Stainless)... If your looking for the best of both worlds (instead of swaping props back & forth), you should try and find a 21p-22p SS 4-blade to try???

I just don't have anything in that range right now... Jim
