" For Sale" Pulse 186 open bow with 280 hp Merc $13000

I bought the boat new in 1999 with a 175 Merc but I wanted more speed. I traded up to a 280 merc racing division 2.5 liter in 2002. In 2005 I burned a piston because of bad gas and I got a new power head from Mercury. The motor has less than 3 hours on it at over 6000 rpms and less than 20 hours over 5000 rpms. The boat has been stored indoors in the winter and on a covered boat lift in the summer. I have used it very little the last 2 years and that is why I am selling it and also a new speed limit of 45 was put on the lake where I live which is in the Minneapolis area.
Included is trailer and tarps over the bow and cockpit. I have been the only driver of this boat and it is in excellent shape.

The set up is as follows:
-280 merc with CMC hydrlc jack plate, with gauge, highest setting, shaft even with pad.
-11 inches set back
-Hot foot speed control
-Sea star hydrlc steering
-gps speedo, best run 88 mph with 25 inch lightning ET.low 90's is possible prop with
experimentation
-Turn signal type jack and tilt controls.
-Sportmaster lower unit which has new water pump last year.

DUDE!!! That boat rocks!!! An 88 mph 186?!?!?!:eyecrazy:

I'm worried the lake association on my lake is going to start pushing for a speed limit as well.

Post some close up pics of the interior, exterior and motor.

Good Luck with the sale. I gotta think someone will jump on it even if it's only for the motor.

Wow, have not seen this one before:thumb:. Must be a hell of a ride at speed.

(I always thought your handle was since you owned a 28' Check.)

re: parting out the pulse186

I want to sell the rig as a complete package so I am not at this point considering parting it out. I know I could get more money for it that way but I don't have the time to do it. The scream and fly boys I know would be very interested in the motor.

The motor has 220 hours on it. I have the computer print out from Supreme marine who is the Merc racing dealer in the Minneapolis area who ran it up on their dyno and everything checked out but the plugs needed to be replaced ..... so I did it. I also had them set up the ECU to run a bit rich so I wouldn't burn up any more pistons. I now have an exhaust gas temp gauge and water pressure gauge on the dash. By the way the motor is completely stock from Merc and I bought it new from Supreme Marine.

It is a sweet ride, only about the last couple of feet of the pad are in the water and no chine walking at all but I need more positive lift on the tilt to reach the upper 80's so that's why I feel that if I experimented with props that had more bow lift I wouldn't need so much upsy tilt.
