Ran my 21 Liberator today. 124.4 mph

I been planning on a top speed run for my twin engined 21ft Liberator cat. I took it to a local lake today because it seemed like it would be flat water. I got a couple friends to take another Liberator and wait at the far end of the lake in case something went wrong. They got about a mile down the lake when I went by at over 120. Coming up on them, I thought they were idling. They said it was like they were standing on the side of the interstate watching me go by at over 120 mph. They were doing 75.
Every pass was at 124 mph. It was like it was on rails. No hop, no wobbling, nothing but the scream of 330 HP 2.5 Mercs at 8400 rpm. It was a little choppy which normally cost me 4 or 5 mph. It runs fastest on dead calm water. I was hoping for 130 before I sell it, but I'll try again. Here's a thread on the run on Scream and Fly. http://forums.screamandfly.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101931

You have an Awsome job Wildman.

The 30" cleavers that ran 123 at 8600 would only run 118 yesterday with the chop. The borrowed labbed 32's ran the 124.4, so if theres a 5-6 mph difference, I'm hoping for the 130 on a calm day. I'll tell ya though, my heart was beating out of my chest after the first pass.

I would have thought you would run a bit faster in a little chop, help free up the hull. I guess this is not the case with the liberators.

The 21 Liberator runs very flat. With a 6" chop, The tops of the chop will hit the bottom of the boat 4 or 5ft further forward which creates that much more wetted surface hitting the 3 sponsons. I could trim up more, but it makes me nervous at those kind of speeds.

I'm still bummed you couldn't get your 2100 over 90!! Give up on that one?

Yeah, for now. I took the 300 off and put a 225 Opti on. Runs 74 now. SCT told me I had the wrong prop to go 90. It's just that it's such a handful to drive a chinewalking V-bottom at 90 when I can put the same motor on a 21ft cat and run 100-105 with one hand, or none.

Randy, I'm glad to hear you're safe and sound.

I was watching your thread over on Scream.
