Restore gelcoat around removed graphics

Hi guys,
I've just removed the old decals off an '87 Enforcer. I got all the old adhesive off but now I've got a shadow where all the letters were. I've tried acetone, 3M Heavy Oxidation compound (with a high spped buffer) , "On and Off", oven cleaner, Bug and Tar Remover, and paint thinner but nothing works.
Any suggestions? Thanks-Paul :irked:

Sattex corp. has a buffing/polishing compound in stick form that's used on high speed buffers. You may have to see your local fiberglass repair shop for that. Not sure if the number is still good, 541-826-8808
I get brown stains that are easily taken out with a shower cleaner called the Works, available anywhere.
I found one that works even better sold at Home Depot called Shower Control made by OdoBan. It's an organic acid cleaner. Works great on tough water stains and exhaust tips. Basically it's like doing an acid wash with muriatic acid but not as harsh.
If all else fails and you didn't hear it from me, carburetor cleaner. :shakehead:
good luck

I had a bit of that where a previous owner had some name decals on the boat. I wetsanded it with 800 and then 1000 grit and then buffed and waxed it. you can just barely see it if you are me and look at it from just the right angle and know where to look, but when I tried to show my brother he couldnt see it even when I showed him where they had been
