The only sad thing there is that it's on Saturday, not Friday. But otherwise, sounded like a helluva plan 245!

I'd really like to go out there, but I'd have to drive an hour each way. Is metro beach the closest place to launch, and how far on the water from the launch to the island?

MY Bad, I thought today was the 18th.:sleep:A co-worker and I just finalized the plans too.:irked:Well I might head up for the boat show anyway!

Its only a simple 20 minute (20-25mph) trip across the lake, almost due east and a little south of the metropark.on the south of harsens Island

This weekend..

Thanks! did not know Metro Boat show was this weekend.. Enticer I like to launch off the Clinton River next to the Macomb County Sheriff. A day pass is $6 and yearly is $24. Don't forget Browns Holloween Party is October 4th.. See you on the lake

Thats where I usally launch from too!And my plans are not done for yet!Saturday is still very possible for me.:cheers

Is it a big hassle to launch from Metro Beach? It looks like you have to make it out to the lake through a channel, but I do already have a MetroParks pass... unless I'd have to pay more to launch there too.

Not sure about the boat pass. But U do have to chug thru black creek to get to the lake.It takes about 15 minutes to do so.But its a nice ride and in the summertime its like your cruising Woodward or Telegragh or something with the wall to wall boats of differant sizes and styles & all the bikinis too! .U don't even need to leave black creek to have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe another stupid question- how big does the chop get out on St Clair? My check is fairly small, but I think illmattic took his predictor out there without any problems...

The hieght of the waves are directly proportional to the size of your nards.Using this equation I would guess about 6-8 fts for you.LOL
Seriously, Theres alot of big boat traffic going in alot of differant directions with a usual 2-3 fters everywhere else. All it takes is a confendent boater in any size vessel to enjoy him or her self outthere!
I ran my sportfire from Wyandotte to the Metro Park several times apx.30+miles. I say put in and go for it. You might just LIKE IT.

I' been to Metro Beach before. I was going to Mi. every weekend for about eight weeks. I was remodeling a house for a friend of ours. She is a old Checkmate employee. As a matter of fact her daughter and her sister in law worked at Checkmate also. They all live up there. I think they had a parade in the lights when I was there. I did see a 300 Convincer that day. I would leave on a Friday afternoon when I got off at Checkmate Go up and work on the house Sat. and Sun. and be back to work on Mon morning. That was about two or three years ago. She only lived a block from Lake St Clair.Had a lot of fun while remodeling a home for an old friend.

Games on for Saturday.A co-worker and I will be swinging by the Island by 11ish and stay for awhile!!:cheers:thumb::D :bounce::p:drool:

That was the parade of lights held the 1st weekend of Aug.on the Clinton River. Good times I've acouple of them myself!!!!!!!

You are right Merc245 it was called parade of lights. There sure were alot of nice looking boats. I would definitly tell any one that asked about this event it was a good time.:bigthumb:
