im looking at buying a 21 senator and was wondering how what kind of speeds are capable with this boat with a 260hp sbc.

senator speed

My senator ran 63.6 gps with the worn out 330hp bb. spinning a 23 vengence.1.30 ratio on the alpha.with the new motor im at 68.9 with a 23 mirage but the rpms are a little higher with this motor 4900 wot. I thought about selling it next year because i have a life threating illness called two foot eyediss! I think some of u guys know the illness.LOL:banana: I also will add the fact that i have alot of stereo stuff in the boat and redesigned enterior with side gunnels, and a bench seat with cooler space.Thats part of the reason its not in the low to mid 70 mph.weight takes away from speed bigtime.

Low to mid 60's with the 350 mag motor. I raced a Senator owner on my lake years ago with my 17' Pulse 171 with the 150 XR6, and I walked away from him.......................

Senator speed

i just got 63.8 gps yesterday with a stock 350 with thru hull exhaust and a 24" turbo prop.i think there might be a bit more speed with a 23"Mirage just havent run it yet.whats your "X" dimension ? Im at 2"

I have an 88 Senator and I am thinking of replacing my stock 350 w/ alpha 1 with the remanufactured 357 Mag w/ Bravo 1 drive. I will change the prop out and open up the exhaust manifolds about 1 inch or so from where it was.

Can I expect a decent speed increase out of this? I was running around 58-61 mph with my old set up.

I am really looking forward to re-powering this classic and hope to have her running like new for many years to come....
