no problem, i hope it works. when you get it back check to make sure it is strait up and down. paralle with the motor. also check for small pin holes in the weld. that will be the first place it will start cracking agian. good luck:):thumb:
 
As I mentioned before, the proper way to clean the lower, prior to welding, is to put it through what is called the dechroming process. Aluminium castings (even good ones) will have some air holes that will trap grease and/or oil over time. The dechroming process is a electric/acid bath used to clean the metal and those little pores. (Same as prep to chrome metal).

As with anything, you only get back what you put in. Shortcuts only lead to doing things twice, at twice the cost and down time.
