Small Checkmates... differences?

BADBK

What's the difference between some of the smaller 'Mates? Exciter vs Predictor, etc? 18' ish.

The Spectra was a cool little boat also. They made a 17' and 20'...kind of looked like mini offshore boats with deep freeboard and long noses!!

Predictor is 16' and exiter is 18'. You can hit 80+ witha stock 200 in a Predictor. 70's in the Exciter. Both look the same but one is bigger.

Are you thinking you want a fast small boat?

Then you have the V-Mates. Both in a 15' and 17' they go pretty good and are light. All of the boats mentioned have a small pad.

I'm keeping my options open and trying to learn as much as I can.... A couple members exciters/predictors peaked my curiosity, good lookin rigs! If I can't find another 21 pulsare at a good price I'll more than likely save the extra pennies and opt for a smaller Checkmate.

I have a 1987 Exciter with a 200hp Merc. Boat is fast and runs bigger than other boats (19-21') in light chop. We ski all the time with it and is very stable with big people on the rope.

Negatives, water comes over the back and hooks easily if you let the relatives drive.

Best part is the "old school", get in, shut up, and hang on... cause, it's going to start to wobble.
