Speedo & fuel gauge not working

The speedo and fuel gauge have stopped working on my 2000 pulsar. I did notice some moisture inside the glass last year. I checked all connections underneath the dash and everything seems tight. My fuel gauge was on and off last year and yesterday didn't work at all. If I turn my key all gauges turn and go to zero and fuel gauge goes to full?? Is it possibility the sending unit? Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Remove signal wire from sending unit at tank location and see what gauge indicates. Ground signal wire at tank location and see what gauge indicates.

I'll try that tonight when I get home. I was also looking last night under the dash. There is alittel white box connected by a brass nut. I can move that box up and down? Should that be so tight that I cannot move it? Thanks
