Sportfire

I'm not sure I'm posting this in correct forum or not but thought I would give it a try. I have a 1988 Sportfire with 130 Yamaha that I'm very happy with. (first CM) I was wondering if a hydrofoil would help aleviate the high nose up attitude at slow speed. ? I'm running a 22P prop that runs 64 mph with two in the boat and am looking for recommendations for a water skiing prop that might sacrifice a little top end for more hole shot. thanks, Ron

Wow, looks like good speed numbers for that setup! Is that GPS speed?
Also, I take it trimming in at low speeds somehow doesn't correct the 'nose up' condition you're describing? And just to clarify, you're talking about part throttle speeds, but still on plane, correct?

That is GPS speed at 5800 rpm. The nose up condition that I thought a hydofoil might cure is the 10 to 15 mph when we are just poking along the shoreline sight seeing. Maybe that's just a CM condition that I'll have to live with. Last year was my first year with the boat and I'm very happy.

Had a 89 sportfire and yes that model was prone to do that.I never looked to fix it. But look into negative trim wedges.A wedge that goes between your mota and transom allowing for more negative tuck! I remember the days of having a passenger standing in between the front seats to pull up a skier.
