is anyone using the type of hydraulic steering thats only on the transom ,where you use the original stuff to the helm . i just read a little about it on another site , and it sounds like its something that would solve the load problem on the gimbal ?

Those types of systems will help the gimbal. Don't waste your money; they still have a lot of play in them. Go full hydraulic or you will see chine walk.

FULL HYDRAULIC FROM THE HELM BACK IS THE WAY TO GO IF USING BIG BLOCK/HIGH HP MOTORS. ALSO ADDING AN EXTERNAL SYSTEM AT THE TRANSOM SUCH AS A LATHAM MARINE OR IMCO WILL HELP KEEP THE BOAT EASY TO HANDLE AND SAFE.

i knew it had to be better , just trying to figure a way to do it all in one year. too bad i can't use the boat for a tax deduction !RISENSHINE !!!!
