Telescoping Ladder Madifications?

Hey Strangers.....Back..missed everyone! Wife unit is complaining about not being able to get in and out of the Ambassador easily. she has a point the ladder just doesn't go down far enough to be able to get the leverage to pull yourself out of the water. My boat has a single rung that folds down about 11" but the platforn is at water level. Kids have no problem but adults it is a bear. I was thinking of taking one of the telescoping units that I see for sale and modifying it to collaspe and then flip up like the current rung does. this would put 2 or 3 rungs going down much deeper. Has anyone done this with any success? TIA

but check out this site for ideas on swim ladders.. they slide and tuck under the platform, and extend 3 to 4 rungs down..

Hi Sam. I have an 86 Ambassador & thought the same thing. I picked up a 3 step tele job at Boater's World. It is designed as a fold-up. I haven't installed it yet, but fitting looks pretty simple without mods.

I'll try to remember to lay it in place & take a photo for you. Good luck!
