I just got back from PA after picking up my new ride. It's a 79 exciter and in amazing condition!!!! I cant believe how well kept this thing is. Garaged its whole life and family owned for 30 years. Looks like the skimate project is back on the back burner again cause I spent the money on this. But it should feel good to be back in the water again.

Just a quick cell pic. Threads are worthless without pics!

Beautiful, great to see another exciter on the forum. Is that one of the tall windshields, I haven't figured out why there seems to be two different windshield heights in the exciter model.

Maiden Voyage

Took her out today for a few hours. Learned a few things about her. Had a good time all in all.

I learned she does not like the 5mph zone and seemed to spit and spudder and vibrate. Ran great on throttle though so not so sure whats up with that. Probably just needs a little tinkering. The prop that's on it ran great for 20mph+ but was pretty bad on low end and getting boat outta the water. She sounded like she would slip a little and took a little effort to get her moving. I think I may be in the market to trade that prop for something a little more well rounded. All in all a great day though.

I have some video clips ill put together later and post up.
