Trim Tabs

boatn70

Well-known member
I have an 08 230br and I think I need some tabs. The boat handles well at speed but lower speeds it wants to list one way or the other, I can get it to tilt side to side with steering. Its very irritating. 350 mpi, alpha drive.
I think tabs will help this.
My questions are: which tabs, how big (what size), where to locate on the transom for best results.

If anyone has a ZT230BR with tabs, Id love to see a transom photo for reference of factory install. even if not factory I would love the feedback.

Thanks
Kevin

Hi Kevin, I've got an 04 230..Tabs will help with the side to side listing.. I installed Lenco 14x12 high performance tabs on mine and it eliminated the low speed instability you're experiencing... Mine's a little different {heavier} with the 496HO but the characteristics of the hull are the same under motion to an extent..I've experimented with the tabs under all conditions.. It will launch much flatter with the bow rise kept under control with the tabs down then pull them up for a smoother ride.. Anything over 45mph for me and I just pull them up completely.. 55 to 80 mph the tabs aren't needed.. I'll get pics of the placement this weekend we're heading out tomorrow..
