Well getting ready to put the enchanted under a full over haul. What is the best paint to go back with. I was thinking awl grip it seems pretty durable I am going to be going back a single color either cloud white or charcoal gray. Give me your thoughts I am going to pay a professional for the paint job I am going to bring them just a hull to paint an then I will install the hardware. Give me the pros an cons of awl grip or other boat paints or just base coat clear coat. The boat will never be in the water for more then a weekend.

Awl grip is good, plus they make a clear coat that goes with it. Awlcraft 2000 comes in metallic colors as well. Imron, base coat clear coat are good as well. Just depends on what you want to spend. My Enforcer was painted with base coat clear coat, Jetmate's boat was painted with Imron.

Here is my Awlgrip job. It hasn't hit the water yet so I can't speak about durability. I did it myself and struggled to keep dust out of the finish. Fiberglass is a dust magnet. I am pleased with the outcome. It has a high gloss finish without a clear. Keep in mind that Awlgrip is a linear aliphatic polyurethane, which means that you can not sand and polish it or you will ruin the gloss finish. Awlcraft 2000 is different, more like automotive paint. The good news is, you also never buff and wax it. Be aware that most automotive paint guys will have no experience with this product. Take a look at Kurster's thread, also an Awlgrip example. Hope this helps, I struggled a long time before I pulled out my credit card and ordered my supplies.

Yea if I go the awl grip route I have a guy that sprays boats an does just marine work that would spray it if i went base coat clear coat probably take it to anyone that sprays I am just curious what is the best for durable out come less maintains in the end an good finish product

Does the awl grip lay flat? I would hate to have a finish full of orange peel that you couldn't cut and buff.
