Vintage Checkmate Gauges

Hey I just combed through ebay this morning and found some vintage gauges that look a lot like the ones my MX-14 has. I know that I have had many people interested in my gauges, but I am keeping mine. I am actually looking for a tachometer (6k or 7k preferably) in case someone has one laying around :poke:

I also had a quick question. Some of the tachometers I've seen have been stuck in a certain position. Is this bad?

For example, here's an 8K I found on the internet. Also, have you ever seen an 8K tachometer?

DAM!
I wanted to buy your gauges.
Yours is the only water pressure guage I have every seen.
BOO
Come on, sell them :)

Never seen a 8k tach before

Here is why it sucks ordering from ebay to Canada.
That battery gauge up above ----------------Battery Gauge: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-BATT...66093e&vxp=mtr

$34.95 plus $45.60 shipping to Ontario Canada.
For a package about 4 inches square.

I'm in Iowa every week, if you need anything get it sent to Iowa and I'll bring it to Saskatoon and mail it to you, just let me know and I'll give you a shipping address.

Well here's a couple more I found. Problem this one has ended.

http://www.fergusonpoolemarine.com/contrlssteeringinstrmnt.html (Scroll down there is one almost half way down. It is a full kit with 20' hose, connections, mounting parts, and bulb socket.)

And here's another from google search "mercury vintage gauge", but when you open it it's this without the picture: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCURY-Mar..._Accessories_Gear&hash=item4d12746330&vxp=mtr

So they do exist!! Just very hard to find! I guess I got very lucky

Save yourself the money and time and just buy new ones.Alot less trouble.:poke:

That's basically what I just did. Or it's just an original in great shape. Either way for $60 not bad. I just got it from an old marina. This guy has probably 1,000 old engines used for parts.

Also, I just have a question about my battery gauge. It looks like one of the studs is broken. Will this gauge not work now because that is a necassary connection?

Well you now have you RPM gauge you need to match your set.
Very nice find and price
Looks like they think the water pressure gauges are made of gold for the price there asking so I think I am going to give up on these gauges.

You should be able to find bulbs in many places- Radio shack, electronics stores or maybe even walmark.

Looks like to can get the bulbs at a Mercury dealer---32878

LOL MY writing is to small.
you mount the battery gauge where i made the circle, bottom of picture
The 2 big long studs are mounting studs and ground for light bulb and the small stud and broken small stud is where to hook up 12 volts for the circut

Ok. That makes sense. I'll have to see if there's a way to connect to the broken stud. What are the 3 wires coming out of the front of the control box? It looks like the tach that was on the boat when I got it had the wires from the control box directly connected to it. It even had the rope like cover over the wires. So are they the tach sender, ground, and 12v power?
