What do you think about Stingray boats?!

...so how is that different from my 'liner or a 234? We had 12 on the starliner one day -- OK 6 were kids and I wouldn't use the word comfortable for that trip. You can't beat a pontoon for functionality for sure. I'm not sure what the wake would be like though - could be very good for slalom. I still vote fiberglass!!
 
12 people in your boat, sounds like some of your friends and family need to pony up and buy thier own boats. Pontoons are waters version of a church van, sure they are practical, but not for me. There are lots of other boats that can haul people and gear.
 
That sums up my feelings of pontoons.

The church bus description will stick in my head whenever I see a heavily loaded toon now.
 
Funny you should say that - my buddy just closed the deal on a 2004 stingray 22' w/ a 5.0 efi. About 100 hrs on it, it looks BRAND new.

I'm still waiting to hear back about that stingray I'm looking at. I thought we had a deal, now the guy's not returning my calls or emails!

Also saw a nice cobalt 22' w/ 502 in it. Gettting heavier than what I want to tow or wakeboard behind, but they are just such nice boats. Not fast or efficient hulls, but smooth - also a bit more $ than I want to spend. I can't go from a 1 ton boat to a 2 ton boat!
 
Cobalts are nice...much nicer than Stingray. I thought about getting a Cobalt before.

Did they shut down for a while, and are they making boats/still in business?
 
I had a 922cr South Bay -- Thee Top of the line Pontoon boat. I sold it after one year -- need I say more -- They are nothing but floating barges -- Nice if your collecting Social Security or afraid to go fast anymore or just having funnee fun with the kiddes!!!:sick:

And I dont care that the TRIIIII TOOOOONS with IO's run 50+ mph -- they are still the dorkiest looking floating barges on the water!!!!!!!!!

If you are going to spend 50 to 70k on a pontoon boat because thats what you will have to spend new to achieve 50+ mph and the comfort you need. Buy a brx look real kool go much faster!!:drool:
By the way guys Stingrays are really nice boats but they are not Cobalts completely different class boat and price also.
