I was sitting here looking in our section and realized nobody must have done any boating this year. no good stories about a good day on the boat, no hey lets get a get together some where, hardly any post. so what happened?

We were all waiting on you to get fixed. Buy a house and have gas money!:poke:

I didn't make it to **** this year. Only been out half dozen times. Its hard with the boy, or scorching hot, or hurricanes, or floods. Always something!:brickwall:
I will get out more next year, I keep telling myself. The boy will enjoy it next year being 2 so I think we'll enjoy it more again.

Check the Entrance page, I got out that day!:)

I winterized mine on sunday . The last time it was in the water was the 4th of july weekend .... Work schedule changed and screwed me out of using my boat .

I am surprised theres not more Chesapeake Mates on the forums. Everytime I'm out I see a few. Seems we have the biggest group of mates in our waters but not on this forum.
The idea has been up before and only Demage,Jet and myself made it too a Cheasepeake gathering. I think maybe we should try again with more notice. I know its just so hard to find a place where the small and big boats can run. Plus have docking, overnighting and so on.
Anyone with a place that big and small boats can gather with slips, resturants and accomadations on the Cheasapeake please speak up.

Just off hand I'm think southern MD , Solomons area and run up and down the patuxent river. Lots of places to stop eat, drink, hangout. Docking and overnighting in solomons with plenty of nightlife in walking distence. The other thought is the eastern shore around the RedEyes bar area. There are slips, hotels , nightlife and water everyone can ride in. Just what comes to mind. Let me know what you guys think.

Lets get a Cheasapeake meet together for next year.:thumb:

i hear ya , something always comes up. i think if something was planned i would make an effort to come. i think i was only out maybe 4 or 5 times this year. i am buying a set of props so gonna head out one more time this year. have to get some numbers for this winter for when i send the props out. i rode my jetski alot this year since nothing was going on. maybe next year, see how money looks

A few of us got together up in the NY/NJ area around 4th of July on Greenwood Lake and there is something going on this Saturday as well. Check the regular Events section. I posted a while back about going to Lake Wallenpaupack in PA but never got much action on it and the weather caused me to cancel my trip there anyway. Did a run down the Hudson for the 9/11 Memorial too.

This rain has to stop before the weekend...

Not many "Maters" down here on the Virginia Potomac... I only know of two other Mates in the Fredericksburg/Woodbridge area. Anyway I am going to try and get out on the river this weekend and head a bit south to Tims RiverShore (Tims II) in Fairview Beach, to hang out and eat crabs (saturday being the preferred day weather permitting). Any other Mates in the Maryland/Virginia area are more than welcome to meet up! The season's almost over, just trying to get in as much boating as possible before I go into withdrawal!

Going to Lake Anna for a bit on Saturday, weather permitting. My little boat has a hard time on the Potomac but I've done it a few times.

we should try to get a get together up here next year. somewhere in the middle where the smaller checkmates can still run. I don't mind traveling an hour or so either way. we should start coming up with places now. maybe take a vote. lets start posting up some places

VA/MD Mates

I think that's a great idea. The Solomans area sounds good. About a two hour trailer ride for me. The lower Potomac is also pretty nice with places to pull in and eat, party, etc. Lake Anna is nice too, Quite large and not real boat busy this time of year. Tims II (Fairview Bch) is having their Radar Run on Sat, Oct. 15th. Tryin to get more info on that. This weekend looks like Sunday may be the better day, who knows for sure. Might just try and get out both days.

ive been to anna, nice lake little far for me, thats a 5 hour ride from philly, anywhere near ocean city md, or something middle to north side of the chesapeake. kent narrows or something... definetly has to be something the smaller boats can run on also. maybe somewhere with a sandy beach to hang out on.

my wife and i want to do that also, i will have to see how money looks for next year but i might be able to swing it depending on work.
