Who owns a check mate mx13 ?? Need HIN info

hin

guy by me has a 1973 Checkmate Jetmate purchased in late 1972, his hin is on the aft left side, he is the original owner

I also read in a few places that it wasn't until the mid-70s that they started to add the H I N number to the back of the boat. Prior to that they only had the aluminum tag that was inside the hole. Just spoke with Kip at checkmate and they actually had a 1972 checkmate MX 13 in the shop. He told me that there was no H I N number on that one only the tag inside. My boat was built in October 1972 so would have sold as a 73. Only reason I needed to know this is because a DNR here in Maryland are given me a hard time obtaining a title/registration for this boat because it has an out-of-state registration form and they want to see a hull identification number on the boat. And if one is not there I cannot give it to them. Always something..

I have a 1970 MX-14. Mine had no tag with numbers at all. I know they did not have the coast guard plate back then, but there was a small grey checkmate plate that I believe is supposed to be mounted right behind the throttle. I think it had some sort of number and the model, but I'm not sure. Someone on here with an early 70s MX-15 had a picture of it.
