Winterizing question

....
My guy charges $80 to winterize... and he does a once over on everything at the same time. I wonder if it is worth the trouble for me to try to do it myself?

$80 aint bad if that includes the anti-freeze and it's done properly. But done right it should only take an hour or less depending on your struggles with the block fittings and such. I have petcocks installed in mine so it's just a matter of cracking open a valve and letting 'er drain. then filling it all back up with AF.

i had a fun one today new to me boat first time winterizing i had been looking at it for a while underestimating how large i am versus how small the holes are under the seat the long of the short of it i couldnt get to the drain plugs so i had to get some regular antifreeze and pump it through the motor until i pushed the water out of the exhaust my pump broke so i ended up having to fill up the sea strainers half a gallon at a time and push it through with the seawater pumps guess whos gonna be changing impellers in the spring for sure
im thinking i might just want to remove the backseat in the spring and take off the wingnut style drain plugs and rig up some braided hoses with petcocks down to where i can reach them in the bilge :sssh:
