Im looking for a decent checkmate in the north GA area. Im not looking for a show piece but I'd like to have something that's solid with a decent running engine. This will be my first boat so Im open to just about anything but I'd like to stay under $2000.00

I've got an '81 Enticer I'm thinking of selling. It runs and looks great, and the interior is original. The interior condition is very good, although the seatback supports could be stronger (they have the manual recline 'feature') and the bow seat needs to be braced or just a new piece of plywood. I wouldn't be able to give it to you for $2000 unless I took the sound system out of it, but it could be doable. The tower of power 115 is very strong, just rebuilt last season- new plugs and primer bulb this year.

His loss Top. I had to re-read your post again, you mean you'd let that sweet boat go for near $2k w/o a radio? :shakehead: You running a fever or something!? If it's 1/2 as nice as your pictures show it to be, $2k is a steal!

Thanks for the kind words winter. I was gonna angle for 2500 sans audio equipment.
The back story is that i'm looking for something 18 to 21 feet that'll easily get me to 70s. I really do love my Enticer and it's a great boat- I think I just have the speed bug. To anyone interested, $3k would take it all!

Chit, all you have to do is drop that 115 and pick up a mid 70's inline 150 and your just about there! :D

I think I'd have to get into a V6 150 to see that. My 115 (I believe) makes the same power as a 70s 150- There were alot of changes around '80- I have the CDI ignition instead of a distributor, for instance. I think the power rating point changed from the flywheel to prop around here too.
I've thought about going there, but I'd need to re-do the steering, get a jackplate, etc and it'd still handle like the 16' it is. I haven't been to 70 in the Predictor/Enticer hull (maybe Buss will take me for a ride!) but I imagine I'll want something a little bigger.
