Cass Lake Mates

Looking for any mates who regular Cass Lake. I've been on the lake since '88 and have been keeping my boat in a slip since '92. In all the years I can only count less then 10 different checkmate sightings. I need a hand out there, the Donzi's and Crownlines are swarming like flies.

Where is Cass Lake located?

I'm always up that way running Pontiac Trail, Orchard Lake Rd doing appraisals and offened thought wouldn't be cool to have the boat with me and take the rest of the day off on Cass or Orchard Lakes or even Lake Orion up 24 (lapeer rd). From door way to ramp its 50 minutes to Cass or Orchard.Stop by Dodge park once to see whats it about in early spring, I was just me and the geese.

Is there any place to have lunch/drinks on those 2 lakes.Maybe this summer I'll make up there. One of my favorite things is to try new waters.

Cass lake is just southwest of Pontiac

I live only 5 minutes from Lake Orion and I would rather drive to 30 minutes to Cass Lake. Lake Orion is cut up by no wake zones and lots of hidden tree below. Cass is nice because the main body is long and wide with alot of small bays which are both wake and no wake. The back bay by the ramp is about 60 feet deep and great to drop anchor to swim. Orchard lake is boring since its just a large circle. Cass also has a nice beech and great sand bars to play on.

Designed a house on torch lake northwest end. I got spoiled by having a slip close to home and got to really really hate trailering my boat. I would love to be on torch lake.

must have been east port area????? i grew up on the chain of lakes.... lake bellaire, clam, and torch-lived on lake bellaire for about 9 years and torch for about 6! looking for some checkies to help me out this summer on the sand bar(if you know what i mean!):thumb:

My first job when I was 16 in 1970 was pumping gas at Sea and Ski Marina on Cass Lake. I used to live on Elizabeth Lake a few miles away.

I took the fam to Orchard once at the end of the season, wasn't crowded at that time and had some nice shacks. I have not been to Cass, but my boss ('87 black / aqua starlet I/O) goes there and likes it. He has lake access to middle straights lake I believe.

I have the starliner down here until mid-june, so I'd be up for a little get together and testing. Woodland lake is sort of small for high speeds but is about 15 min from my house. (Brighton area).

I also need to get up to the saginaw with curt once this summer.

We're hitting lake st. mary's (about an hour north or Dayton) over memorial day - it's shallow and nasty towards the end of the summer, but should be warm by memorial day and not weedy yet.

Ross - I'll be on Elk the ?third? week in july. 1 maroon starliner, 2 yellow XP jetskis and my buddy's big fat 4winns (good to wakeboard with though). If the weather's good you may also see a BIG smile from the little italian guy driving the starliner from quite a distance!! I'll let you know exactly where we'll be.

Sea and Ski from what I heard is slated to become condos. Not sure how good your memory is but just next door to Sea and Ski is a private residence with 79 slips. Thats where I'm parked at since 1991.

By the way is anyone in Florida an actual native? With the house my firm design on Treasure Island I've met more people from Michigan than when I worked in Michigan.

Cass is great during the week and Fridays appears to be when everyone goes tot he Bar so the lake is empty. Saturday an Sunday are a zoo. We usually hang out on the beach and bbq at the boat slip or just park it in the back bay. Ramp in and out from what I recal are nice. Haven't used them since the marina has it's own.

Ice finally gone

Well the ice is finally gone from the inland lakes and hitting 70 degrees. The season kick off for me is next weekend with the boat being dropped into its slip. Usually try a do a boy's night out on the lake once a month. I'll keep all of you posted and try to hook up on Cass lake during the week some time when it's not packed with every jetski know to man running around without a clue.

Will do! BAD name. Hopefully that dude always has a girl on board or it makes you wonder what he's been up to. Bad pun. Sorry.

Pulled the nose cone off the outdrive today. Hope to see the numbers increase. End of last year only pushing 4200rpm and 58+/- on the GPS. If all goes well hopeing to see numbers when it was new around the mid to high 60's. Only time will tell.

when is dodge park going to put the docks in? went there on wednsday and no docks. can you still launch without the docks in? 80degrees today and i've got the itch!!!

81, not sure when the docks go in since the marina I'm in has it's own dock. I'd call (248) 628-7323 but I remember back when they did not have docks and you would just launch the boat with a long rope or have one person in the boat ready to fire up. I'm looking to get the boat in on Sunday. I need to replace the head liner since a couple of chicmucks found it to be good material to make a nest. Fired up the boat on Monday and cleaned the hull.
