My latest project. 13ft Paradise/Playmate copy

Good Job Wildman Thats why I was hired at Baja 34 years ago. My custom tape off abilities. You need a steady hand, good eyesight and you have to be a good sprayer. I did many cars back then. I kind of got out of that and into remodeling homes. I built many homes in the Houston area in the late 70s.

I got my new custom made setback bracket in yesterday. It has 4" of lift and 4" of setback.

I just picked up this very clean 1996 60hp Mariner for the boat. I'm gonna take it completely apart and paint it Mercury black. Here, I had to fit it for the right hieght and to run the rigging to it.

I covered the entire interior with black gelcoat

HHmmmm, Too little power with a mariner 60 or too much with a promax...............decisions decisions! :surf:

The boat is all wired and rigged. The 225 will go back on tommorrow. I'll gas it up and run it on the hose. The interior will be a few weeks off. PPI interiors is doing it. Same people that do my 30ft Liberators. I can sit on the old cushions for now. I'm hoping to get it wet Friday.

Well, tommorrows the big day! The boat is all rigged and running. I need to do a few thing yet, like putting on the motor skirt, finishing the rubrail, and changing out the steering wheel. The interior is a few weeks out. The motor is all rebuilt with new rings, etc. I don't think the fact that I can't hammer on it will matter much because it's gonna be outta control before the revs ever get too high. For now I just put a 28 Trophy on it. I'll get more pics and video tommorrow if I don't die first!

I hate to mention this now, but you should have turned the arch around to face the other way, so you can trim up the motor when you need to.

Well, finally got it wet. Boat floats real well, but very weight sensative from right to left. Straight skyward on takeoff, but planes quickly. I could only run it about 5 minutes due to a split fuel line on the high pressure side. I barely made it back to the ramp. It hops a bit until I trimmed it, then it was fine up til about 60 where it gets a bit squirrely. I could never open it up for more that a few seconds. Absolutely UNGODLY acceleration! Probably as hard as my twin Liberator with 28's! Does'nt seem to have hardly any prop torque, but don't let go of the wheel or you'll be swimming.
Here's a couple of quick videos of me coming by the ramp. It's in a little cove, so not much speed here.
