boat crash video

Buss, your advice is right on and I don't mean to deminish the importance of safety, but that guy is an idiot. He had the boat topped out when he hit the wake with no throttle left to peddle it thorugh. Plus, you can see it wasn't handling well before he even hit the other boats wake. That was TOTAL DRIVER ERROR. In the end, it was a good thing he had a good vest on before he made a very poor decision. He's also very lucky he lived to learn from it.

Wow, that is a terrible wreck, definitely hurt and I'm sure that guy is thankful he was wearing gear. But why would he have been in the water for 10 minutes with how close by the camera boat was?

i agree the guy was an idiot....i just posted it as little reminder how fast stuff can happen!!

i once hit a roller at 75+ im the predictor, came outta nowhere on the river, no other boats around, and luckily for me i hit it square, and lemme tell ya..... that boat was out of the water for a LONG time..i dont ever wanna do that again!! luckily i was close to the launch, so i got to change my shorts right away..

JACKASS!!!!!!!!!!! to bad the boat wasn't destroyed it people doing drive bys while there friends film it that cause more and more recks if he was just out doing some runs none of that would have happened.....I'm just surprised there wheren't a few beer cans floating around too.........

all I can say is LIFELINE!!!!!!!!!!

Jumping wakes when your topped out is not a great idea. I hope he is okay as far as the jacket I don't leave home without it.:D

those bass boats are nuts, like 300 hp in a small shallow boat. then lets air the damn thing out and haul ass every time were moving. whats the darn hurry? theyre just damn fish! were the hell are they going to go?

those guys are under a time restraint besides if it wasn't for them the high performance indusrty would be dead when it came to out boards and for that I thank them............

I agree with the above post, I love what the bass boat guys do for the industry.

And I have to go ahead and agree with everyone else on this subject.....I'm very glad the guy survived but what do you expect to happen when you hit a wake that fast?!?!?!?!

Rob

As a former tournament bass fisherman, I will tell you this; we practiced SAFETY,SAFETY,SAFETY. That would get you disqualified quick. The guy in the video was showing off, most tounament fishermen wouldn't not do that.

WOW. That hurt to watch. One other thing- had he kept the rudder straight he might've been ok. When he launched off the wake, the engine came full starboard which launched him sideways when he came back down. Maybe his steering cables broke, but I doubt it.
SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY.

Agreed, definitely turned the rudder and made it worst. It didn't look like he trimmed in his motor either? I'm no boating expert but I always trim in the motor a little when hitting a wake to "cut" into it and to help lose a little speed. It works on a 18 ft glastron doing 54 and a 25' nordic doing 80.

I would be careful with that trick your apt to stuff it into the 2nd wave

I will second what this person is saying in this post. Bass guys the overwhelming majority are some of the best and safest drivers out there. There competition requires they run all out but I have never known any and ther are plenty on my lake the would put aside saftey for there ultimate goal -- that is getting to the next spot. Lets give this guy a break-- I am sure he learned his lesson, at least I hope so. We have all had mishaps, I hope he is okay:bigthumb:
