Just got my 1st 20BRX! INCREDIBLE!!

I don't normally go on about how nice a boat is, but this new 20BRX is incredible! I never saw so much room in a 20ft boat! There's tons of storage and the mold work is a work of art. The back seat is in a curved shape with built in armrests and drink holders that sets it apart from others. Of course the interior colors and outside colors were my choice, so I guess I can take a little credit. (Hey! I gotta take it where I can.)
The trailer is also really cool! It was my first from Phoenix Trailers in Michigan. The bunks are all welded, it has stainless steel fenders, step-pads, torsion axel, LED tail lights, and swing-away tongue which makes the total boat and trailer and motor length under 24ft.
I put a Merc 200 ProXS on this one, but can put whatever someone wants on. Checkmate ran it last week to a bit over 70 on GPS, but I'll try different props this week. Here's some pics I took today. side silver stripes are metalflake.

It looks like a nice boat, but when I look at it nothing stands out that says "Im a Checkmate"....The design just isn't there for me.

wow... I don,t want to be a d**k, but IMO at first glance I thought that someone had done a great job dolling up a BAYLINER ARRIVA, sorry but it seems to look like 80% of the mass produced " sport boats" on the water today ????

I really like the fact that they have got rid of the extra wide gunwales that stole so much interior space. Not everyone is going to like the swoopy retro look from a distance, but you have to love the clean modern finishes up close.
Bravo to Checkmate for a bold new state-of-the-art model.

Amazing interior room/storage space for a 20ft boat but thats about the only good I can say about it LOL. Dislike were the audio headunit is, spot in front of the passenger seems wasted & looks like a fancy Bayliner. Great choice on exterior colors though.

You guys realize the hull mould is the same as the 2000 Pulsare right?

I've seen a few comments/questions on the size of the pad etc.

It's the same hull as the regular 2000 Pulsare, just the deck mould and inner liner are different. :thumb:

It looks good to me!

And per usual, Wildman does an amazing job on the colours and graphics choice. :thumb:

I just don't get how some of you think it looks mass produced! I think it looks very high-end. But I guess some people would still order a car with radio and power steering delete like back in the 60's. HEY! Ever notice how cars aren't square anymore? I'm about as old school as they come, and I just love the updated look and extra interior space. If it ran like a Baja or Bayliner I could understand your thoughts. I don't suppose you guys would get rid of your cell phones or flat screen TV's would ya? Same hull and pointed nose and top speed! I personally love it. This one will be around $42K as set up on this trailer. The trailer has galvanized, but very shiny cross members, Aluminum from, and all stainless hardware and fenders.

I agree, it is a huge step forward is design and features. Because the Pulsare has remained unchanged for so long people have just got used to it. I think this design will grow on even the 'traditionalists' after awhile. The Baja molds thing aside, I think it is great that Doug Smith is bringing Checkmate production into the 21st century.

After owning 2 2000br's, I think it is a big improvement on useable space, don't care much for the passenger side dash, but I could live with it. The older style barely had enough room to walk between the seats. This one looks to be 4 to 6 inches wider between the seats. I can kinda see what other people are saying, where the windshield side rails meet the deck does look a little like a bayliner, but not every one thinks a bayliner is ugly. 2 or 3 hundred thousand people liked something about them even if they a poorly built piece of crap. One thing is for sure, this boat is built Checkmate solid in all areas. Regardless of what people say about it looking like other boats, it looks like it's doing 70 sitting on the trailer! Wildman is right, how many of you would give up you I-phone to go back to a bag phone? I think I want it! boatman:cheers:

I like it, the interior looks great. It looks very roomy and has lots of storage. Once agian Randy did a great job picking out the colors and rigging the boat, right down to the custom color match set back bracket.

I agree, I like the older boats, but come on guys...... They cant make Starflights, Pulsares, Bag phones, and Console TVs forever.

The 2nd & 3rd shot surely show it has Checkmate reflection. Looks just like glass.

Like the design or not, it's nice to see the detail that only your pictures can capture.

I'll get used to it i guess. Very cool color lay out, inside especially. But yeah, there is just something neat about the starliner/starflite looks. That is timeless beauty i wish they'd bring back somehow. To each his own i suppose.
