New to forum and well fairly new to boating. I look forward to speaking with all of you and hope I my get some good feed back to questions I have.

Thank you

We live in S.E. Michigan just north of Toledo. I have a 85 checkmate with a 140 hp Johnson v4. The deck needs replaced but so far all stringers and transom is good. It has sat for 4 yrs so its in great shape as far as im concerned. Having a little trouble getting the engine to stay running. spray it with starter fluid and it starts for a few second. I did put fresh fuel in it and it does seem like the fuel pump is working. I dont think she will make it out this yr but she will for sure be out next. Hope to see some of you out on Lake Erie.

Very cool, don't go too crazy with the starting fluid cause it doesn't provide lubrication for the two cycle engine. Maybe a carb clean will do the trick. Had a Johnson V-4 on a Glaspar G-3 back in the day. Motor ran forever with no problems. Lots of knowledgeable people here.

Welcome,
New to the site myself but have been boating for years. I always do a lot of preventitive maintenance that has served me well. Have a 82 Diplomat with a 150 Mariner. Live in Sterling Heights and spend most of my play time off of Harsens Island in the channels.
