Looking good dude. I'm undecided on eliminating the ski locker yet. But, the more I think about it the more it seems like a good idea. Your glass work looks pretty good. Your trailer must be a bunk trailer since you built right on it? Looking forward to getting back into it this weekend.

Looking good!!!:thumb: I like the idea of higher stringers around the gas tank. Will the water drain from the floor into the bilge area between the transom and knees? I eliminated the ski locker on my Pulse 170 as well, just another place for water to sit.

I agree, the ski locker is nice to have, but as CMPULSE170 said is right, about the water and it tends to find its way into places to sit and rot all our hard work away, I will do without mine when I have to redo my floor for this reason and I want to believe that without it the flooring would be that much more stable and less likely to crack down the road.

Yup, bunk trailer... well rotton bunk trailer, but still better than a roller! Trailer will get the full treatment as soon as get the floor done and can flip it onto the floor.

There will be some drain tubes in the very aft of the boat to the bilge... r&d still in progress! The tank will be "sealed" in w/5200, no need for a drain system underneath. If I need to take it out and re-evaluate, it should only be an hour or two of work.

Ski locker, man I went back and forth but decided I don't really need it. Another water gathering place, even though I plan on having every nook and cranny glassed very good, ya never know. I really didn't use it much on my last 2 boats, except for empty beer cans!

I am surprised you guys are losing the ski lockers. I agree that it seems like a place for water to sit, but isnt there some way of working around that? drains etc? I know your boats are a little bigger than mine, but I never have enough storage space, and I added a ton in the back when i got rid of the floatation boxes and left the area under the backseat empty. I even momentarily considered adding a locker to the enticer, but really just not enough to gain there

Maybe its because we don't often swim off the boat but I really don't get any water in the locker and if I do I just leave the cover off and lay a small fan over the hole for a few hours to dry it out. I will however remove my tank when I replace the fuel filler hose this year and make sure its spotless under there to allow water to drain to the bilge like it should.

If this were a BR, I would probably put it back in, but with all the space under the deck I highly doubt I'll need the extra storage space.

Swimming, tubing and skiing is the name of the game! I anticipate gettin'r wet inside too, doing damage control now to save heartache later. :thumb:

I would think if the factory didn't carpet the ski locker then you have less chance of holding water. All it takes is a drain hole to get clogged up from carpet balls, items falling in there plus it stays damp. Maybe gelcoat the ski locker would be more practical.

If you don't need the ski locker, loose it! That is why I asked about the water issue, but if you don't have the ski locker water shouldn't get in from the front. My gas tank is setup different, so I had a different thought about yours. I installed Gel coat under the gas tank and in the ski locker.

Anyway... keep up the excellent work:bigthumb:

No carpet in the locker on my Liner. Brushing some gel on in there and under the tank while its out is a great idea. Might as well do the whole area behind and under the rear seat while I'm at it. See why this place gets me in trouble! :D

I applied gel coat to the entire bilge area before installing the floor when I did my resto.

Rain water has gotten in there when out riding around and it drained right back to the bilge pump. If there was carpet in there it would have held the dampness for weeks. And that would have a serious effect on the resin and glass over the long run. We do keep ski's or wake board in there when we go out for the day.

I will be gel coating the works after I get it glassed in along with a couple other quirky things planned, we'll see if they actually materialize when I get to that point as far as functionality goes....

Should have the first 8' of floor/stringers/knees/support in tomorrow.

Anyone seen any swivel slider bucket drop out bolster seats??

If you think about it, the ski lockers are right in the middle where you step every time. The floor is so much more functional without a rickety slatted door in the middle. As mentioned it is always wet down there and therefore only good for skis or an anchor. I took the locker out of both my Starliner and Diplomat. Admittedly I have almost no storage now in the Diplomat but have never regretted it.

Hmmmm, out of resin already... either I'm doing something very right, or very wrong. Feel sorry for the poor sumbeeach that tries to rip this apart next time!

Ordered another gallon kit of resin, outta be enough to finish the little I have left to do. P-77 filler on the way too. Hope to flip it after easter.

Question, what gel can I use to roll on inside without a primer and will adhere to the epoxy?
