OK NOT A TECH ? BUT HERE WE GO , IM LOOKING AT A 1985 MERCURY 200HP , ITS IN GOOD SHAPE , COMPRESSION BETWEEN 120 TO 125 . WHATS IT WORTH . APPEARS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF , OIL INJECTION IS GONE AND IT HAS A LOWER NOSE CONE . I WAS THINKING AROUND 1600 IS A FAIR PRICE BECAUSE ITS AN 85 . SO ITS 27 YEARS OLD.
 
yeah, depending on how good it looks and how you think its been maintained, between 1500 and 2500. I've been keeping an eye on similar motors, and theres a huge range of what people ask as well as what they get. There are some good deals out there, I picked up my merc v6 for 500 with an old beat up boat and trailer, but that was lucky and a bit of a risk.

Is it just a nose cone or is a low water pickup too? What gear ratio? 1:87 or 2:1?
 
not sure on gear ratio it has the nose cone and low water pickup. not sure on hours it looks good although it has been messed with some , oil injection was removed .
