    hey Pat, yes I decided not to use the j brackets for no other reason other than I like the way they look better being at the same angle as the wind shield. I also cut 1 1/2 inches off along the tops and angled the corners down a little for looks also. Kurt

    From what I can see in your photo, that's a really nice looking Exciter you have. Here is a picture of my Checkmates dash with a 14 1/2 Grant wheel {I believe the original wheel was 13 1/2} --- the 14 1/2 fits really well. Good luck.
