One of the great things about our site is the getting to meet other members from other states:thumb:! This weekend I got to met "SIM". He was down in Jupiter to do some diving and we met up for a beer at Tiki 52:cheers:. I was busy entertaining out of town family and getting ready to hit the stage with the band but we did get to have a nice conversation!! If anybody ever gets down to S. Florida, give me a shout! You'll always be :welcome:!! And you might get a boat ride!!!:surf:

Hey Steve! It was great getting to meet you and your lovely family.
It was also fun getting to see you play-sorry I had to leave mid-set (early dives next morning). Trying to figure out how to downloads pictures from the new iphone.
Hopefully we get to do it again some time. When your boat is up and running.:)

Sim is da man! Have fun diving down there!
I'm already back (just a long weekend) but thanks for the good wishes. It was great diving, great people.
Gotta do that more often. Especially once a certain twin outboard is up and running.

saw the pictures Sim posted. I can see your tastes in boats is only exceeded by your taste in guitars. Looks like a real nice Anderson. You don't see a lot of guys playing those.

Good to see we've got some hardcore rockers on the site!

jmshipp, that guitar is just one of my stable mates!! (no pun intended! lol). The Tom Anderson is a 2003 Hollow Drop Top Classic in Oceanic blue. I also have a 1983 Gibson Explorer II (bought new) in Tobacco Sunburst CMT, a 2000 Gibson Blues Hawk in Ebony, a Breedlove AC250 acoustic with Maple back/sides/solid spruce top, a 1977 Ampeg VT-22 2-12 combo with matching 2-12 speaker cabinet, 1981/82 Fender Twin Reverb (135 watts with blackface graphics), and Mesa Boogie DC-2.

Fortunately the majority of us know that busting balls on the internet is just that, busting balls on the internet. Some of the guys here take things more seriously than others and that's OK because those of us that don't take it too serious won't get upset at their being mad at us. :) I have yet to meet a member here I didn't like and have a great time with.

You do have quite the arsenal! I love those blueshawks... wish they still made them. I have an Anderson Classic that I ordered in '97. Out of the 50+ guitars I have had over the years, that one and my old SG are the only two that have stayed with me.

Hang on to the Anderson... Tom seems to flirt with getting out of the guitar business every year. So you never know when he might pull the plug.

I will hit you up if I make it down to So FL. I try to get to at least one 'Canes game a year. Maybe we can jam AND go for a boat ride in that new slick set up of yours.

I also found it cool to boat and hang out with guys from here. So far all good guys, had alot of fun and can't wait to do it again.

Sim, is a one man party. lol Everyone needs to hang with Sim at least once!:bigthumb:

Yeah man, you got quite the arsenal of guitars!! Love the Explorer!! I've got a bunch of guitars in my stable as well, but my 2 "go to" guitars are by far my 2 Carvins! Yup, i said Carvin, i have a California Carved Top CT6M dubble cut away, and a Bolt which i built from one of Carvins kits, swamp ash body, maple neck/fretboard, basically a "Strat" guitar, love it! I also have a several Carvin amps too, a V3 2x12, Legacy head, and a SX300 half stack.

Sim, did you bring your blow up toy?
You mean the kayak or the inflatable love goat?
TSA probably wouldn't like the inflatable love goat. Might tag me as an Islamic terrorist and put me on the no-fly list.
Flying can be so lonely.

Mike, the Anderson plays like cutting butter!! It's smooth, fast and light! The blower switch cuts out the rhythm and middle single coils and activates the humbucker for screaming solos! The mini toggle switches give you the ability to turn on/off any pickup or put them in phase or out of phase with each other..lot's of sounds!! The guitar is very versatile but sounds best clean. My Explorer 2 is the distortion monster!! I've owned the guitar since new (29 years) and it's the finest example of an EX2 you'll ever see. It's a completely unmolested original guitar with just a tiny bit of belt rash that's barely visable!! It's beginning to get the vintage look to it with the gold hardware tarnesh and yellowing of the binding. The guitar screams with the dirty finger exposed pickups and growls on rock n roll!! The Blues Hawk is my latest addition....very different playing guitar for a Gibson...feels like a Strat with the longer neck and great string bending! The Varitone switch gives you 18 different sounds out of the special blues soap bar single coils. I'm still getting used to it as it's very different from both my other axes. Generally speaking, once I buy a high end guitar I tend to keep it. The only high end guitars I ever sold (regretably now) was 1970's Gibson SG Special with soap bars and a 1980's Fender American Strat...My son has a Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro and a Nash Relic Telecaster.....not to mention he's an animal of a drummer!!
